Information Booklet

Welcome to your Friends Association

This page is currently being updated but we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to St Gilbert's and tell you a little about our Friends Association, which is a big part of school life. We hope to have the new information before 1st June so please pop back after that date for another look!

Why do we have a Friends Association?

We are very fortunate at St Gilbert's to have a friends association that is, and has been, such an integral part of the school for many years. In its time the Friends have raised thousands of pounds which have been spent on improving resources and purchasing equipment to enhance all our children's education, and the school facilities in general. The Friends exists to provide closer links between home and school. It is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working together towards a common goal.

We are always looking for new and exciting events to raise money. If you have any ideas however extravagant or insignificant you think they may be, don't let them go to waste let us know!

If you are not able to get into school regularly and would like to receive information via email, just hand in your email address to the office for attention of Friends. We will keep you informed of events happening and also occasionally ask for help, giving you the privilege of helping out at events like sports day and the children's Christmas party - where you get an insight into the ethos of this great school.

The Summer Fair this year will be held on Saturday 19th June 2010      2pm-4pm.

Please do come along and support           us on the day!

The Friends Association is all voluntary. Without willing parents and carers to help we would not be able to put on these social and fund raising events. The money we raise benefits every child in the school. Please do support your Friends Association so that your child can benefit from the added extras which contribute towards making St Gilbert's such a special and thriving school.
