Our School
We are proud of our children and our committed staff provide them with a very good education, through creative and inspirational teaching. Our school has been innovative in developing its ‘Creative Tuesday Mornings’ – a true reflection of the broad and balanced curriculum we offer. We respect each individual and believe that the voice of the child should be listened to and their input valued.
Our school is a good school with a number of outstanding features. This reflects the strengths in the way in which the whole school community works together to deliver the best education for each child.
‘Pupils are very well looked after in this nurturing family community’ and the school's Christian ethos underpins effective pastoral care for all pupils. Pupil's spiritual, moral social and cultural development is also judged to be outstanding.
Our School Council plays an active role in developing the school, they believe:-
“St Gilbert’s is an inspiring school in which the children feel at home.”
“Every child counts.”
“We love to help others who aren’t as fortunate as us, through things like ‘Love in a Box’ and Mary’s Meals."
“There is always someone to care for you.”
“This school will bounce you into the middle of learning happiness.”
“We have much to achieve here and we love to celebrate our achievements.”

The community appreciate our school
“Though only grandparents and not parents, we were always welcomed at the school and that was appreciated. We have many happy memories of our grandchildren’s attendance at St Gilbert’s and appreciate the efforts made by staff and pupils in achieving so much.”
I was very impressed by the Scootathon. It was lovely to see so many children taking part and they were so well behaved and had so much fun!
A passer-by commented “the children are a credit to the school”
“It has always been a pleasure to come to St Gilbert’s and share in the wonderful Christian ethos that is so evident in all you do.”
